Thredbo's Summer Event Calendar grows every year and this summer is no exception. ?While there many smaller events on over the summer season there are some larger events that have early bird pass offers on so you need to book in early for these.
The first event up is in it's third year. ?The Cannonball MTB Festival back again from December 4 to 6. The line is ?5 Events...One mountain and that is the case on this huge weekend of MTB competition pitting the pros against all comers with a prize pool of $45,000 up for grabs. ? After the Blues Festival in January??There are? ?2 new events for Thredbo this summer and while they are both about exploring your inner being and discovering who you really are the approach they take is very different.
The first is Wanderlust ?bringing ?yoga, music, food and friendship?to Thredbo on a global scale. This event is considered to be the largest multi day yoga festival in the world and it is coming to Thredbo from February 18th for 4 amazing days. ?With world class instructors, performers?and?presenters Wanderlust is a non stop feast for the senses and the soul. ?The event ?has a combination of workshops, parties, performances and wholesome food all designed to change the way you see the world. ?Check out the Wanderlust website for more details and early bird ticket prices (ends November 4). ?Our 3rd night free accommodation deals are available for Wanderlust so book with us and save plenty
While Wanderlust is about looking for awareness?in tranquility, the ?Australian?Alpine Ascent?Triathlon???goes looking in an entirely different?place ?This is another ?new event ?pushing boundaries of ?physical endurance to a ridiculous level. ?Organisers claim this is the world's toughest daylight triathlon and they are probably right.
A 3km swim in Lake Jindabyne kicks off proceedings followed by a 130km bike ride from Jindabyne?into the mountains with 3200m of vertical climbing on route. ?The bike leg finishes at Smiggins Holes and then the 30km run starts with a final climb to the summit of Mt Kosciuszko before descending to the finish line at Rawsons Pass.
In fairness while the AAA triathlon sounds like an event only a few people would actually survive, ?it is part of the Australian Alpine Ascent Festival and the organisers have a series of events on over the festival that mere mortals could easily consider tackling. ?You can find out more about the AAA Triathlon Festival and look at registrations on their website. ?Our 3rd night free?accommodation?deals are also available for this event so at least you can book somewhere for a comfortable nights, sleep. ?If you're going in for this event, you are going to need it.

The Snowy Mountains Country Music Festival is back again on Saturday March 5th. ?The program for the festival this year is sure to?bring a big crowd. ? Sited at the natural amphitheater at ?Thredbo's Friday Flat the Snowy Mountains Country Music Festival is a unique event with a stunning mountain backdrop close to Thredbo's village centre.
Headlining at this years event is US star Kip Moore coming off a successful year with double platinum hits in the U.S. country charts. ? Kip will bring his high energy talents to Thredbo along with another U.S. country music sensation Kelsea Ballerini, tipped as the next Taylor Swift (who also performed in Thredbo) ?she is another rising star in ?country music.
