If you have given up on Blues Festivals and suede shoes then bust them out and get ready because in January 2018 the Thredbo Blues Festival will be ramping up for it's 24th year of Mud Free blues magic and it is another sensational program of Australian and overseas talent.? ? If you haven't been to the Thredbo Blues Festival before and you enjoy good honest blues and roots music then you need block the 19th to 21st of January 2018 out and head to?Thredbo,? you won't regret it.? ?When you arrive in the village you can park your car for the weekend and stroll between all of the venues on the program.? No mud, no shuttle buses,? no queues, no security checks and most of the venues are cosy enough that you can see all? the players up close and personal.? It is like being in the mosh pit at every gig, without the mosh.? And there are some Mosh worthy gigs at Thredbo for 2018.

Tony Sarno Head to Thredbo with Jacko and the boys[/caption]
Back in Thredbo again after a decade is Nashville based Tony Sarno, bringing his prodigious talents to Thredbo with?the powerhouse Darren Jack band as the engine room.? Tony has played on the same bill as blues legends? like BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter and Little Feat.? The Darren Jack Band are?a classic Australian hard driving blues outfit with a national following.? Darren will be performing both solo and with Tony and the rest of the band.
Also in Thredbo from the US is Indiana based Doug Henthorn playing with confirmed Blues International?Rick Mellick and his band.? Doug has decades of blues playing talent with a voice that stretches from ballads to barnstorming with ease.? ?Rick has a pedigree of 40 years playing with the best from Eric Clapton, BB King and? Ian Anderson? of Jethro Tull fame to Aussie greats like Andy Gibb, Glenn Shorrock and Stevie Wright.

Back in Thredbo after a show stopper last year are the Wollongong party band 19Twenty, using their youthful energies to bring new life to some classic blues standards as well as some impressive original music.? Gail Page brings her vocal virtuosity to bear fronting the James Southwell Band and there are a host of other exceptional Australian acts including, Vdelli, Blues? Arcadia, Lachy Doley Group, Jim Finn and a flock of female talent including Roshanii, Mary Jane Guiney, Marji Curran, Miss Whiskey and? The Women of Blues and Soul Showcase.? There will also be vocal and drumming workshops if you'd like to hone your own musical skills.
Early Bird? Passes are $129 for the whole weekend including chairlift access and you can book accommodation staying at the Lantern Apartments with?3 nights and a festival pass from $271 per person (quad share) on the early bird deal.?
