Fireworks Over the Snow in Thredbo[/caption]
After a spell of "Winterish" ?weather hammered?Thredbo ?with ?snow falling on the top of ?the mountain,?the frosty mornings set in and the Snow Makers cranked up the guns to lay some cover down..... And winter is not far away...the June Long Weekend marks the opening of the Snow Season and as usual ?the party is on. ?Thredbo is an action packed little village for this weekend of parties, entertainment and with this early snow, maybe even some skiing or snowboarding.
The Village will be full of music ?with the "Preatures" (Number 9 on Triple J's hottest?100) ?in a free concert on Saturday night in the village square supported by "Red Wine Roses" who will be playing gigs all over the village including at the Rekorderlig Pool Parties on Saturday and Sunday Afternoon and in the Schuss Bar every night.

There ?is a party for everyone in Thredbo on the opening weekend with special family friendly ?activities like the artist Kenji Ogawa as he files and chainsaw's his way through blocks of ice?to create astounding?ice sculptures,?the Thredboland animals will be out and about?at the Kids Opening Party and Twinkle Toes will be teaching the latest dance moves?while the face painting princess and Snowy the Clown keep the young ones laughing. ?The?Thredbo Super Slide will be pumped and of course Saturday night will be ablaze with the Season Opening Fireworks.
The now infamous Long Lunch is ?back again for 2015 with sponsors Mumm Champagne ensuring it is a bubbly affair. ?Join in this party in the village square for a relaxing Sunday Afternoon. ? ?On Sunday Evening there is a Cancer Council charity ball in the Kosciuszko Room with the Stevie Wright Show in a tribute to Stevie Wright and the Easybeats.

As part of the Rekorderlig Sounds in the Snow Series ?the Electronic "Crooked Colours" trio will get the party started as the sun sets on Saturday afternoon. Having played at Parklife, Wonderland, Laneway and shared the stage with the likes of Flume and PNAU, they have what it takes to turn up the heat. ???With crackling wood fire,s a heated pool and a hot tub there will be plenty to keep you warm at the pool side.
