New for this summer are some excellent value options for downhill mountain biking. ?With the new ?Kosciuszko Flow Track, downhill mountain biking is no longer a sport for the young, strong and slightly crazy. ?It is a more friendly option with a track suitable for any capable bike rider with a sense of adventure. ?If you already own a good quality mountain bike with dual suspension and disc brakes ?then you don't need to hire a bike to ride the flow track and with new lift pass prices for Summer 2013-2014 you can ride the mountain for as little as $33.
Bike riding is a great activity that the whole family can enjoy. ?However as the kids get a little older they need a little more excitement to keep them involved. ?Thredbo been working hard on this over the past 12 months. If you have kids in their young teens, who love bike riding, Thredbo is paradise and if mum or dad are active and enjoy a challenge then the family can get on there bikes on the mountain. The Flow track is a cruisy ?7km downhill track with some tight turns but no big jumps so after a quick introductory lesson you can ride this track to your hearts content. ?You do need to have a full face helmet which you can hire from Thredbo Sports and they also have other protective gear if you want some extra padding. ?The cost of the chairlift passes for bike riding are ?$69 per day for an adult and $49 per child. ?There are late start passes from 1pm at $49 per adult and even a sample run pass at only $33. ?You do have to complete a one off "Induction" run to give you some training and ensure that you are capable of riding safely. ?The induction cost is $30 and includes a run on the mountain so it is great way to get a taste of downhill mountain biking before you buy a day pass. ?
