Ski packing tips for first timers
Ski packing for kids is easier if you use a plastic bag for each child, and label the plastic bag with their name and add: 1. gloves 2. thermals 3. socks 4. ski suit 5. neck warmer (optional) 6. singlet or t-shirt (optional addition to the thermals) 7. underwear 8. ski boots, helmet & skis (not in the plastic bag) [caption id="attachment_4807" align="alignleft" width="300"]

With the plastic bag system it is easy to pull out and recheck items, place at the bottom of each child?s bed or see what is needed or missing.
You may like to bring high energy snacks such as muesli bars, Snickers or Mars bars for when you get peckish and need a boost.
Or some loose change for Gatorade, water, hot chocolate, coffees or any other excuses to get out of the elements and rest your legs, ready to go again,
Staying at Thredbo accommodation like Lantern you won?t need multiples of everything (thermals, underwear, socks or under clothing) because all apartments are fully self-contained and equipped with washing machines and dryers/ drying racks.
It makes a big difference to your luggage and your sanity to just take the bare minimum and plan on throwing underclothes in the wash.

Pack comfortable and warm clothes (singlet, long sleeve top, socks, warm jumper) and sturdy shoes like jogging shoes, apres boots or walking boots. You can hire:

- gloves
- skis or snowboards.

Jo Lobban, mum of three from Sydney, is pretty picky when it comes to activities for her three kids and settled her sights on Thredbo for her 3 year old?s first time on skis. She has been previously been to Thredbo before to ski with her husband and takes the decision making seriously.

Jack, age 7 adored his Freeriders class, they deliberately wore him out from 8.45am till 4pm. ?I got to go on lots of jumps?, he enthuses. Some may say, mothers are only as happy as their unhappiest child, thus Jo was ecstatic that all kids were happily occupied during their Thredbo ski experience.
