Snow season runs from the June long weekend to the October long weekend which is when snow sports are at their best. Try everything from cross-country skiing & snowboarding to night skiing and downhill, with many options available to suit different skill levels.
With the largest snow-making system in the southern hemisphere, Thredbo also has the longest runs in Australia with a mix of tree-lined trails, open bowls and groomed supertrails. There’s a beginner’s area with easy to use lifts, intermediate trails and black trails for the fearless downhill skiers.
If you’re just starting out, group and private lessons are available with Thredbo Snow Sports, and you’ll find everything need in the Thredbo Village from ski or snow board hire, to clothing and accessories.
The region’s other ski fields are also relatively easy to access from Thredbo. You can catch a shuttle bus direct to the ski fields, or use the Ski tube for fast access to Perisher Blue. Please note that Thredbo Resort does not permit Toboggans, sledding or other devices for sliding seated on snow as there are un-manageable safety issues with these activities.
