It is usually quite pleasant from late December until March to swim the river and dam in Thredbo. The dam is located at Friday Flat end of the Village. You can also swim in Merritt’s Creek at the bottom of the Merritt’s Nature Trail. There is a lovely big waterhole in the Thredbo River at Thredbo Diggings (about 10 minutes drive towards Jindabyne) and of course you can swim in Lake Jindabyne as well. The water may be cold in Thredbo but Lake Jindabyne is absolutely super on a hot day.
