Golf Course Loop Highlights
Intermediate and advanced mountain bikers wanting a scenic trail and a chance to practice their skills with steps, climbs and rock gardens should check out the Golf Course Loop. Here are some of the best highlights this gravity singletrack has to offer:
1. Golf Course Connector & Village Views
Access to the Golf Course Loop is via the Golf Course Connector, a short fire road running 600 metres from the Village Loop trail. It heads up behind the Crackenback Ridge and a small climb affords village views. Once you reach the trailhead start heading in an anticlockwise direction around the 9 hole Golf Course. The trail does go near tee-off areas so keep it quiet so as not to distract players.
2. The Variety of Terrain Keeps It Interesting
Riders say the Golf Course Loop is a step up from the Thredbo Valley Track and Bridal Loop due to the mix of terrain but that it’s a fun flowy ride. Expect moderate to undulating slopes, rock gardens, steep sections, loose rocks on dirt, roots and a fair few metal grates.

3. Follows the Thredbo River for Scenic Views
Once you’ve skirted the golf course, the trail follows alongside the Thredbo River passing by snow gums and you may come across some wildlife in this section. There are options for taking a break and soaking up the scenery. The trail then hugs the edge of the fairway back to the village and finishes at the Valley Terminal.
