Fun Ways to Cool Off This Summer in Thredbo

Thredbo in the summer is not just fantastic for bushwalks and mountain biking. It’s for water lovers too. That means on a hot day, for a birthday party or just to do something different on your summer break, the Thredbo pool at the Leisure Centre is for you.

Mission Inflatable

If you like spending time in the water but get bored just doing laps, there are two fantastic outlets for fun with a capital F. These are all ages fun so make sure mum doesn’t try to wriggle out of it.

Mission Inflatable is a 20 metre long colourful inflatable course, consisting of six different obstacles.  These are a mixture of a tunnel, an inflated ball to climb over, 3 different sized barriers, slightly slippery to clamber over and a slide into deep water at the end.

The life guards, understandably ensure that any fun-lovers can swim for 25 metres, because during any of the obstacles there is a real and ever-present chance you can fall sideways into the water, too deep to stand up in. Naturally, the danger of falling off, is the appeal of the water course, and getting to the end, sliding down into the water is akin to scoring a touch down goal, as many woops and cheers attest to. The Torpedo Topple is Mission Inflatable’s blue sister, sitting alongside it. It is similar in size and purpose. Which one can you master?

The Super Slide is a 10 second enclosed water slide that begins inside the leisure centre, loops outside momentarily and finishes back inside the leisure centre in a swirling mass of bubbles at average chest height.
