Posted on Wednesday, 18th of December 2013
The Thredbo Blues Festival is an Institution in the Mountains and this January will be the 20th Anniversary. With warm days, cool nights and a village full of Australia’s best blues musicians this weekend is a must if you love great music and the line up for the Thredbo 2014 Festival is the best in years with 2 renowned Australian performers bringing their own take on the blues to Thredbo.
Wendy Mathews plays at Thredbo Blues for the first time. With a string of hit records and 6 Aria Awards she is an Australian music diva and her crystal clear vocal style will bring a fresh sound to Thredbo. Also on the program for 2014 is another Aria winner Rick Price who has had a diverse career working with the likes of Marcia Hines, Jon English and Margaret Ulrich, he has had hits like Heaven Knows and Where Is The Love from his earlier days and more recently touring the US with Australian guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel. Rick is now living full time in Nashville where he has written and produced for Australian Country stars like Becky Cole, Adam Brand, Gina Jeffreys, Adam Harvey and The Mclyrmonts. This diverse musical journey will make Ricks performances in Thredbo a stand out, offering a country Blues feel that will be right at home in the mountains.
