Snow, Snow, Snow August 1-2
Posted on Monday, 2nd of August 2010
The Snow shovels are excited. They have only been allowed out of the garden shed twice since the start of winter but now it looks as though they will out 3 days in a row and maybe more. We have 25cm of snow measured on the L.O.T index. (Lantern Outdoor Table index) and that figure is climbing by the hour. On the mountain the falls are approaching 50cm with heavy snow predicted for the rest of the day.
The wind has also been blowing, which doesn’t make for the most comfortable conditions, but in Thredbo when the snow falls and wind blows, we end up with tonnes more snow in the resort as it comes blowing in from the Main Range.
With clearing weather forecast for Tuesday, there will be queues for first chair in the morning to make the most of the fresh snow. We still have apartments available this week and throughout August. Check out our August midweek sneak offer.
