National Runners Week is on again in Thredbo this January. The runners spend a whole week in Thredbo with events every day from serious running races to fun runs, games, tennis tournaments,volley ball, mini biathlons and more. This is a great event for the whole family or for more serious running enthusiasts
Round Two of the Cross Country and Downhill Mountain Bike Nationals series arrive in Thredbo. This event brings the best riders in the country to compete over 2 days. The Cross country event will be short and sharp using mountain & village infrastructure in a cyclo cross style. Take the Kosciuszko Challenge and help raise money to fight Rare forms of Cancer. Hike Merritts Nature Track from the village to the summit – 21kms (roundtrip) or take a Chairlift ride and walk to the Kosciuszko Lookout 4km. It is 19 years since the first Thredbo Blues Festival and the event has become the muso’s festival of choice. Bands love Thredbo because it is easy to get around and the venues are intimate so they get great feedback from the audience. The festival fans love being in Thredbo because the Music Directors always seem to find a great mix of Aussie blues legends and young guns with talent to burn.
