During the summer season in Thredbo the high action excitement of skiing & snowboarding is replaced with the equally challenging sport of Mountain Bike Riding. Whether you are interested in a cross country ride through the spectacular scenery of the Australian high country or want to test yourself with some high speed downhill riding using dual suspension bikes on  the resort chairlifts the Snowy Mountains offer’s Australia’s best mountain biking experience.

Thredbo has cross country trails to suit experienced riders or you can drive to the Thredbo Diggings picnic area 10 minutes from Thredbo to access a 25km network of mountain bike trails through the Kosciuszko  National Park and Lake Crackenback Resort.  These trails follow the Thredbo River valley and offer spectacular scenery and some great single track riding to suit all standards.

To access the downhill tracks from the top of Thredbo’s Koscisuzko Express Chairlift, you are required to complete an downhill initiation course with  The South East Mountain Bike Company in Thredbo.
