The Kosciuszko Sunrise Walk – a unique experienceOut of bed at 3am, into a 4WD troop carrier by 4am, and onwards into the darkness. I know it doesn’t sound all that appealing at first glance but The Kosciuszko Sunrise Walk starts off in precisely that way.By 4.30 am you’ll be well on your way towards Australia’s highest peak with a head torch on and your trusty guide leading the way. As the sun breaks the horizon you’ll be standing at the summit of Kosciuszko with a hot coffee, a fresh muffin and a lump in your throat.
The rest of the five hour trip consists of an informative stroll back to Thredbo with your guide before tucking into a well earned Champagne Breakfast at Eagles Nest Restaurant at the top of the chair, just as the early-bird day walkers are heading out.
The Kosciuszko Sunrise walk leaves every Saturday and Sunday from 31st December 2006 until April 22nd 2007. Even at $138 per person it is a very popular walk.C all us now if you’d like to book or click here.
